This one, Sic Deus Dilexit Mundum (For God So Loved the World), is taken from an original painting saved from a centuries-;d church slated to be torn down in the 1700s. It became a family heirloom for a young Catholic doctor and his family, who gave permission for it to be reproduced.
It reminds us of Christ's unfailing love, and His willingness to suffer persecution, torture and heinous indignities, to the point of death, to save us and redeem us. His eyes and facial expression reveal His longsuffering love and desire for our conversions.
