St. Simon the Apostle
Saint Simon the Apostle (also known as St. Simon the Zealot) is the patron of sawyers, sawmen, and curriers. He was trained by Saint Peter the Apostle and he evangelized in Egypt and Mesopotamia. St. Simon the Apostle was martyred for the faith but much debate exists as to where that martyrdom actually took place. St. Simon the Apostle’s feast day is October 18th.
