St. Samuel

Saint Samuel was the last judge of Israel. He is remembered for delivering the Israelites from the rule of the Philistines. St. Samuel is argued by some to be the author of the book of Judges and Ruth. The name of Samuel, according to the Hebrew language, is translated to mean that “God hath heard.” St. Samuel’s feast day is August 20th.
