Saint Regina is the patron of poor people, shepherdesses, and torture victims. She converted to Christianity from a pagan background which resulted in her being driven out by her family to live as a poor, prayerful shepherdess. St. Regina's troubles continued as she was then imprisoned, tortured, and martyred for failing to marry the Roman proconsul Olybrius. St. Regina's feast day is September 7th.
