St. Nino de Atocha
Saint Nino de Atocha is the patron of children, pilgrims, and prisoners. Legend has it that when the town of Atocha was captured by Moors in the 13th century, they had refused to allow adults to bring food or water to the Christian prisoners. One day a small child, dressed as a pilgrim, came to the prisoners with a food bag and water jug that never emptied despite the hungry mouths. The feast day is celebrated on December 25.
