St. Christina the Astonishing
Christina was was called "The Astonishing" because many unusual things happened in her life. When she was 21 she had such a severe seizure that she was pronounced dead. At her funeral she revived and levitated before the astonished congregation. She said that during her coma she had been to heaven, hell, and purgatory and had been given the mission to pray for the poor souls in purgatory. She lived in extreme poverty, only wearing rags and begging for her food. Many thought her to be possessed or insane, but many other religious vouched for her sincerity. She is the patron of those with mental illness, mental health workers, psychiatrists, and therapists. Her memorial is July 24th.
