St. Bartholomew

All we know of St. Bartholomew is what is mentioned of him in the synoptic gospels and Acts. He was one of the twelve apostles. According to the Roman Martyrology, he preached in India and Armenia, where he was flayed and beheaded by King Astyages. St. Bartholomew's feast day is celebrated on August 24th.
