Andrew, brother of St. Peter is known as the first disciple of Christ. He was a fisherman by trade, but upon the call of Jesus to commit his life to His teachings, he at once left his fishing trade behind, and stayed with Jesus. It is believed that after Jesus' ascension, he traveled to Greece to spread the gospel. Soon after, Andrew was put to death on a cross, to which he was tied. He suffered for two days before he died, while continuing to preach the gospel. St. Andrew's feast day is celebrated on November 30th.
