The San Damiano cross was painted in the 12th century and today hangs in the Basilica of St. Clare of Assisi. This particular San Damiano crucifix is unique in that a full color panel replica of the original crucifix is affixed to a larger thick wood backing and surrounded by a decorative etched border.
