Order of Malta Custom Beatitudes Chaplet
The Chaplet of the Order of Malta is a beautiful sacramental designed by a Knight and Dame of the Order and exquisitely handcrafted in Italy. The Beatitude prayers which accompany the Chaplet of the Order were approved in 2021 by the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte, North Carolina for use by the faithful. The devotion to the Beatitudes is centuries old, but this newly approved sacramental is an exciting new way to expand our knowledge of the Beatitudes and grow this centuries old devotion. Members of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Malta have prayed with this chaplet with the intentions of the Order: Defense of the Faith and Service to the Sick and the Poor.
This intricate chaplet features a red medal with the eight-pointed cross of the Order followed by two black hematite beads to assist with a prayerful examination of one’s personal efforts to defend the Catholic faith and serve the poor and the sick. The medal towards the middle of the chaplet features Our Lady of Philermo on one side and St. John the Baptist on the other side to assist in praying for their intercession. The final medal is the white eight-pointed cross of the Order to pray the eight Beatitudes.
Each chaplet is accompanied by a prayer booklet titled,
Praying the Beatitudes with the Chaplet of the Order, which guides the reader through the Beatitudes, which are the “Way” Christ teaches us to live our Christian lives of virtue. Images in the booklet have been carefully selected to aid Knights and Dames in the contemplation of each prayer.
The rich devotion behind this chaplet will make this beautiful piece a valuable weapon for spiritual warfare and a beloved heirloom to pass down for many generations.
