What's the Difference Between a Rosary and a Chaplet?
Sep 10, 2012 by Gretchen Filz
Do you ever get confused about what makes a rosary a rosary, and what makes a chaplet a chaplet? They are both strings of beads that are used by Catholics to pray variations of the Our Father and Hail Mary and to count the prayers as they go, but there are also some important differences between rosaries and chaplets. Here is a short video where I explain the difference between a rosary and a chaplet, as well as some of the different kinds of chaplets we offer.
Rosaries and chaplets are a big part of the variety of prayer traditions in the Catholic Church. If you're not currently using a chaplet to pray, it can be a nice way to incorporate a new devotion into your prayer life in addition to the rosary prayer you're already used to. Check out our selection of rosaries and chaplets at The Catholic Company for more styles and kinds! If you're not sure how to pray the rosary, check out our how to say the rosary guide to learn how.
