This beautiful sterling silver medal is a lovely gift for First Communicants or anyone devoted to Jesus in the Eucharist & His Sacred Heart. The two-sided medal features Blessed Imelda Lambertini on one side, and the Sacred Heart on the other. The Inscriptions read, "Blessed Imelda, obtain for us a great love of Holy Communion" and "Sweet heart of Jesus, have mercy on us."

Imelda is the Patron Saint of First Communicants, born to noble parents in Bologna, Italy in 1322. She went to live in a Dominican convent at the age of 9, and often made known her desire to receive the Eucharist, though she was too young for that time.

After mass while she prayed before the tabernacle, others saw a host hovering over her head and a soft light surrounding her. The priest recognized that she should receive Communion, and she died in a state of ecstasy.
